With more than 20 years’ experience in the magazine design industry I’m a creative, ambitious and adaptable Art Editor and Designer. I have worked on editorial, corporate ID, advertising, packaging and, more recently, digital design projects. During that time I have developed a keen eye for detail, an enthusiasm and passion for design and typography, and an ability to solve creative challenges while working under pressure to tight deadlines.

I developed my graphic design skills first within an advertising agency, specialising in brand and communication strategies, and then for a contract publishing agency, working on magazine design. I have experience of liaising with clients, photographers, illustrators and print houses, taking jobs from initial concept stage through to print and publishing. 

Before moving into the freelance world I worked at Illustrated London News Limited, where my responsibilities included commissioning photography, illustrations, designing pages from initial concept to preparing for print, re-touching images and managing freelancers.

Since 2012 I’ve worked as a freelance Art Editor and Designer, gaining a greater understanding of the demands of design agencies and publishing companies in London and the UK.

I’ve worked at Redwood Content Agency on its Volvo account, managing the design conversion of magazines into 20 languages, working with multiple overseas sub-editors and managing art editors to produce the finished product. The project also included designing digital content for the Volvo website.

Most recently I’ve been working at agencies including Boat International Media, Zest Media, River Publishing, HMG Aerospace, Sunday Publishing, Touchline and Cedar Publishing.

I am currently in the process of learning Adobe After Effects and Motion Graphics to expand on my depth of knowledge and widen the scope of graphic skills that i can offer.
